Reporting to Sales Manager

Outline of Role

Reporting to the Sales Manager (SM) this is a senior role within the management team of the company.

The Export managers main responsibility is to seek out, secure and grow own brand distribution in international countries/territories in line with the company’s export plan and strategies. The role requires a professional sales approach, a high level of organisation, people skills and commitment together with a clear understanding of the Motorcycle industry both domestic and internationally.

Supporting existing international partnerships through trade expo’s, dealer visits, trade previews and samples will be a key part of the development as will be ensuring we exceed our marketing obligations within each territory.

The role will also include the implementation and review of distribution agreements with existing and new partnerships together with periodic sales forecast and performance overview.

Direct reports will be Bev Waterhouse – Export Sales Manager

Summary of tasks

  • Ensure all international territory sales forecasts are achieved
  • Research and investigate potential sales markets
  • Visit, assess and appoint agents or distribution outlets in line with the company strategy
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with partners
  • Provide all information necessary – price lists, lead times, MOQ’s etc. in a multi-currency format
  • Ensure high level training and the spirit of the brands are adopted by each partner and the philosophy of the brands is felt and shared
  • Work closely with marketing departments to ensure that the brand guidelines and brand ethos are reflected in the local marketing activity.
  • With Ops team develop processes and guidelines for customer service, efficient returns and repair functions, aiming for self-sufficiency within the territory

With market leading own brands RST, Wolf and TrikMoto and a portfolio of the biggest global brands; Arai, AGV/Dainese, Motul we specialise in providing protective technical outerwear, lubricants and equipment to 2 and 4-wheel users.

Motodirect are looking for an experienced Marketing Executive to join our team at our Derbyshire head office. The role has been created due to the evolution of our Marketing department and our desire to enhance our brand presence and position globally.

The markets we cover and brands we represent will give you access to the pinnacle of international Motorcycle, Car and Cycle events such as the Isle of Man TT. Through these events you will be able to develop and implement creative plans and lever relationships to promote our brands in the most effective ways.

A passion for technical apparel or automotive marketing will be a great advantage.

What your responsibilities will be..

  • Supporting the Marketing Manager and wider marketing team, delivering elements of defined campaigns, on and off line utilising the full marketing mix, including online and offline channels
  • Manage the collateral production process with compliance and external production as well as key internal stakeholders
  • Proof reading copy and marketing material produced for campaigns to ensure the correct tone and branding is in place
  • Managing in-house design and external services to produce adverts, POS materials, domestic and international catalogues
  • Work with the events team and sales team to book, organise and implement events throughout the year
  • Managing budgeting process including cost estimating, forecasting, updating budget entries and matching invoices received
  • Support the sales team with support materials to ensure the initiative supports the opportunity

  • Proven marketing and project management experience.
  • The ability to prioritise and manage a challenging workload and to work on your own initiative.
  • Experience of digital and traditional marketing work
  • Demonstrable ability to deliver market leading events
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and a competent writer
  • Ability to sustain very high levels of enthusiasm and commitment


Who you’ll be…

Ideally degree educated or equivalent CIM and have experience within product marketing.

  • Work with the Marketing Manager to develop and implement the B2B & B2C digital marketing strategy in line with overall business goals
  • Manage all aspects of digital marketing communications to attract, acquire and retain customers as necessary
  • Drive the development of our B2B and B2C e-commerce and branded website, ensuring consistency and accuracy of listings
  • Implement SEO improvements and managing PPC working in partnership with third party agencies
  • Build and deliver best practice for data management advising and guiding the business on all aspects of data purchase, data quality and governance
  • Working with external agencies on web development initiatives

We’re looking for someone who has…

  • A Marketing Degree, Digital Marketing or CIM Qualifications
  • Experience in a similar role in a B2B environment
  • Comprehensive B2C marketing experience that includes; consumer-facing website development, SEO, PPC, e-commerce, social media marketing and consumer email and mobile campaigns.
  • Extensive B2B marketing experience that includes; CRM, customer lifecycle management, digital and online marketing including sales promotion campaigns, management of websites including e-commerce websites
  • Experience of managing budgets and external agencies
